This is definitely a hard one. With so many great new and upcoming bands right now in the scene. However, if we had to pick our top 5 bands that have influenced us, they would have to be:
1. Rex-
Is a deathcore / down-tempo hardcore band from Houston in Texas. During the writing of establishment and really the whole Enemy Lines EP. Rex was a constant go to for inspiration. The vocals are slamming, and the riffs just make you want to punch someone. I love how heavy and slow they are but without it losing any hype. Definitely check out this band if you haven't!
2. Kublai Khan-
Is an American hardcore/metalcore band from Sherman, Texas. During the writing of Graveyard songs, we wanted to pick up the pace a bit with our music. We wanted to add more blast beats and two step hardcore sections and who better to draw inspiration from then the masters themselves. This is a band that has to be on your playlist!
Is a deathcore band from Oswego, Illinois. They are definitely unmatched when it comes to song writing. The songs are so heavy, but they have these awesome sections where they just take it down a notch. Really adding to the contrast between the heavy and the lighter sections. Its definitely something we try to do in Red Dust and some of our other songs with our Electonic sections.
4. Bring Me the Horizon-
Are a British rock band, formed in Sheffield in 2004. This band has definitely had a huge impact in our lives. Suicide Season actually being the first cd our vocalist ever bought actually. The growth and development this band has gone through is amazing. They are able to bring so many outside elements into their music. They are definetly an inspuration to us to keep trying new things. There is not a one fit formula for a song and that's what makes music so amazing.
5. Traitors-
Are a deathcore band, formed in 2013 in Tampa, Florida. Traitors has always stood out to us. Being friends with Stephen the drummer and hearing his insight into the industry really gave us the drive to be a band. We knew it would be hard however hearing stories from people that can make it work gave us hope. This bands work ethic and music are just next level.
